Did you know that instant noodles are a Japanese invention?

インスタントラーメンが日本で発明されたことをご存知でしょうか。

Ando Momofuku, a Taiwan-born Japanese businessman, got the idea of frying noodles when he watched his wife cooking tempura.

台湾生まれの日本人実業家、安藤百福は、妻が天ぷらを作っているのを見て、麺を揚げることを思いついたそうです。

Later, in America, he saaw people breaking the noodles into some pieces, putting them into cups and pouring hot water onto them.

その後、アメリカでは、麺をいくつかに割ってカップに入れ、お湯を注いで食べる光景を目にしました。

This experience gave him the idea of selling instant noodles in tall cups.

この経験から、インスタントラーメンを背の高いカップに入れて売ることを思いついたのだ。

In order to attract people in various parts of the world, noodles with local tastes have now been developed, such as spicy soup in India, tom yum goong soup in Thailand, andbouillon in Europe.

インドのスパイシースープ、タイのトムヤムクン、ヨーロッパのブイヨンなど、世界各地の人々を魅了するために、その土地の味を生かした麺が開発されている。
